A rich and smoky creamy bacon ranch dip perfect for summer gatherings, combining crispy bacon, tangy ranch, and a smooth cream cheese base for an addictive crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sour cream
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1 package (1 oz / 28 g) ranch seasoning mix
  • 68 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked crispy and chopped finely
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions or chives
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne or smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat for 8-10 minutes until crispy, flipping occasionally. Drain on paper towels and let cool completely, then chop finely.
  2. Soften the cream cheese by leaving it at room temperature for about 30 minutes or microwaving for 10-15 seconds until soft but not melted.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Beat with an electric mixer or whisk until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, black pepper, and optional cayenne or smoked paprika until well incorporated.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped bacon and shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Stir in chopped green onions or chives.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let flavors meld and the dip thicken.
  8. Before serving, bring the dip out about 10 minutes to take the chill off. Serve with your favorite dippers like veggies, chips, or pretzels.

Notes

Let bacon cool completely before folding into the dip to avoid greasiness. Soften cream cheese before mixing for smooth texture. Chill dip for at least 1 hour for best flavor. Adjust seasoning after chilling if needed. Can substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt or use dairy-free alternatives for vegan version. Bacon can be crisped in oven if skillet unavailable.
