A simple, creamy, and nutritious breakfast made with just a few pantry staples. These overnight oats require no cooking, offering a convenient and delicious start to your morning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup Rolled Oats (Old Fashioned)
  • 3/4 cup Milk (dairy or plant-based like almond or oat)
  • 2 tablespoons Peanut Butter
  • 1 medium Ripe Banana
  • 1 teaspoon Honey or Maple Syrup (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Chia Seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • A tiny pinch of Salt

Instructions

  1. Add 1/2 cup of rolled oats, chia seeds (if using), cinnamon, and salt to the bottom of an 8-ounce mason jar.
  2. Pour in 3/4 cup of milk and drizzle in honey or maple syrup.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and stir thoroughly until the milk looks speckled and creamy, ensuring no clumps remain.
  4. Slice the banana into thin rounds and drop them into the jar, mixing them in slightly.
  5. Seal the jar with a lid and shake well to distribute ingredients evenly.
  6. Place the jar in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  7. In the morning, stir the oats. If too thick, add a splash of milk. Eat cold or microwave for 30-60 seconds for warm oats.

Notes

Do not use instant oats (they turn to mush) or steel-cut oats (they remain hard). Use rolled oats for the best texture. If using natural peanut butter, stir it well before measuring. Oats continue to absorb liquid, so add more milk in the morning if the mixture is too thick. These can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days.
