This creamy peanut butter banana overnight oats recipe is a quick, no-cook breakfast that tastes like a treat. With just five minutes of prep, you wake up to a thick, pudding-like texture that’s perfect for busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (45g) rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (any kind)
  • 2 tablespoons (32g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional toppings: sliced banana, extra peanut butter, chopped peanuts, dark chocolate chips, cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Mash the banana in a mason jar or container until mostly smooth with a few small chunks.
  2. Add the peanut butter and stir to combine with the banana.
  3. Pour in the milk and stir briefly.
  4. Add rolled oats, chia seeds (if using), and salt. Stir until oats are fully submerged.
  5. Drizzle in honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract. Stir well.
  6. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
  7. In the morning, stir the oats. If too thick, add a splash of milk. Top with desired toppings and serve cold or warm.

Notes

Use a very ripe banana for natural sweetness. Mash banana and peanut butter together first for smooth texture. For best results, refrigerate 8-12 hours. Oats keep in fridge up to 5 days. Add toppings just before serving.
