These no-bake Halloween treats combine crushed Double Stuf Oreos and cream cheese into a truffle center, dipped in a crisp black chocolate coating and decorated as spooky black cats. They are quick to make, perfect for parties, and offer a professional look with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (approx. 36 cookies) Double Stuf Oreos
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 oz white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or shortening
  • Black gel food coloring or black icing gel
  • Melted dark chocolate or black candy melts (for decoration)
  • Lollipop sticks (wooden or plastic, food-grade)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos in a food processor or using a rolling pin in a ziplock bag until fine crumbs form. Transfer to a medium bowl.
  2. Add the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract to the crumbs. Mix until combined. The mixture should resemble wet sand. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  3. Roll the chilled mixture into 1-inch balls (about 20-24 balls). Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 1 hour until rock hard.
  4. Melt the white chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until mostly melted. Do not overheat.
  5. Stir in the black gel food coloring until the chocolate is a deep, matte black. Adjust consistency with a tiny bit more coconut oil if needed; it should be like heavy cream.
  6. Insert a lollipop stick halfway into the bottom of each frozen truffle ball.
  7. Dip each ball into the black chocolate, coating completely. Tap against the bowl to remove excess and place back on parchment paper.
  8. While the coating is wet, use a toothpick or piping bag with melted dark chocolate to draw cat eyes and whiskers. Alternatively, let the black coating set first, then pipe white details on top.
  9. Allow the pops to set at room temperature or in the fridge for 20 minutes until the shell is hard.

Notes

Ensure truffles are frozen rock hard before dipping to prevent the chocolate shell from cracking. Use gel food coloring, not liquid, to avoid thinning the chocolate. If your kitchen is warm, keep your workspace cool to prevent the chocolate from seizing. For a gluten-free option, substitute with gluten-free sandwich cookies.
