A fun and easy Halloween snack featuring hot dogs wrapped in flaky crescent dough strips with mustard eyes, baked to crispy perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Hot dogs (regular or beef, about 8)
  • 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Optional: cheese slices for wrapping inside dough
  • Optional: sesame seeds or poppy seeds for sprinkling
  • Optional: mini hot dogs for bite-sized mummies

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Unroll crescent dough onto a clean surface and press seams together to form one large rectangle.
  3. Slice dough lengthwise into thin strips about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) wide.
  4. Wrap each hot dog by spiraling dough strips around it, leaving small gaps to create a mummy effect. Leave about half the hot dog visible.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on the lined baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until dough is golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for 2 minutes.
  8. Using a small spoon or toothpick, carefully dot two mustard eyes on each mummy.
  9. Serve warm with favorite dipping sauces like ketchup, ranch, or extra mustard.

Notes

If dough is too sticky, chill for 10 minutes before slicing. Use thin strips and leave gaps for crispiness. Apply mustard eyes sparingly to avoid dripping. Oven temperatures vary; watch closely after 10 minutes. Cheese can be added inside for a gooey surprise. Leftovers reheat best in oven to keep crispiness.
