Crispy Poison Apple Vodka Cocktail - featured image

A vibrant, neon-green cocktail featuring a sweet and tart balance of green apple schnapps and vodka, finished with a crunchy, homemade caramel rim for a festive dessert-like experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 ounces Vodka (e.g., Smirnoff or ABSOLUT)
  • 1 ounce Green Apple Schnapps (e.g., Makin’s)
  • 2 ounces Sour Mix
  • 2 tablespoons Thick Caramel Sauce
  • 1 Lime wedge (for rimming)
  • Ice cubes
  • Green food coloring (optional, gel type)
  • Green apple slice or candied apple stick (for garnish)
  • Sea salt (optional, for sprinkling on rim)

Instructions

  1. Pour 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce into a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 10-15 seconds until runny but not boiling. Let cool for 30 seconds.
  2. Run a lime wedge around the outer rim of highball glasses to moisten it.
  3. Dip the rim of each glass into the warm caramel, rotating slowly for an even coat. Place upside down on a parchment-lined plate to set for 1 minute.
  4. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  5. Add 1.5 ounces vodka, 1 ounce green apple schnapps, and 2 ounces sour mix to the shaker.
  6. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until very cold.
  7. Fill the prepared glasses with fresh ice.
  8. Strain the cocktail mixture into the glasses, pouring slowly to preserve the caramel rim.
  9. Garnish with a thin slice of green apple or a candied apple stick.

Notes

Ensure glasses are chilled before rimming to prevent caramel from melting too quickly. Work quickly once the caramel is warm as it hardens fast. For a mocktail version, omit alcohol and use apple juice and soda water. Store pre-rimmed glasses in the refrigerator for up to an hour before serving to maintain crispness.
