These Easy Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Bread Pinwheels are a quick and delicious appetizer made with shredded chicken, cream cheese, Buffalo sauce, and cheddar cheese, all rolled up in crescent roll dough and baked until golden. Perfect for game day, parties, or a satisfying snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • Optional garnish: extra green onions, ranch or blue cheese dressing, everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, Buffalo wing sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled blue cheese (if using), and chopped green onions. Stir until well combined and smooth.
  3. Fold in the shredded chicken until evenly coated. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired.
  4. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean cutting board. Press the perforated seams together to form a single rectangular sheet.
  5. Spread the Buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the entire surface of the dough, leaving about a half-inch border on one long edge.
  6. Starting from the long edge opposite the empty border, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Place the seam on the bottom.
  7. Using a sharp serrated knife, slice the log into 8 to 10 equal pieces, about 1 inch thick each.
  8. Arrange the pinwheels cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart.
  9. Brush the tops of the pinwheels with melted butter.
  10. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  11. Let cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a serving platter. Garnish as desired.

Notes

For cleaner slices, chill the rolled log in the freezer for 10 minutes before slicing. Use room temperature cream cheese to avoid lumps. Do not overfill the dough to prevent bursting. A serrated knife works best for slicing without squishing the roll.
