A quick and easy football charcuterie board with warm soft pretzels, sharp cheddar, pepper jack, salami, prosciutto, and tangy pickles. Perfect for game day snacking without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1216 mini soft pretzels or 4 large soft pretzels
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese (block)
  • 8 oz pepper jack cheese (block)
  • 6 oz Genoa salami, sliced
  • 4 oz prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup honey mustard
  • 1/4 cup spicy brown mustard
  • 1 cup cornichons or dill pickle spears
  • 1 cup red or green grapes
  • 1 apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts (roasted, salted almonds or cashews)
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks or rods

Instructions

  1. Warm the Pretzels (5 minutes): Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place frozen soft pretzels on a baking sheet and warm for 4-5 minutes until heated through and slightly crisp on the outside. Let cool for 2 minutes before arranging. Skip if using fresh bakery pretzels.
  2. Prep the Cheese (3 minutes): Remove cheddar and pepper jack from fridge 10 minutes before starting. Cut cheddar into 1-inch cubes or thin wedges. Slice pepper jack into 1/4-inch thick slices, then cut in half. Arrange in small piles on opposite ends of the board.
  3. Arrange the Meats (2 minutes): Fold each salami slice in half, then in half again to create small triangles. Place in a neat row or cluster. Drape prosciutto slices in loose, wavy ribbons. Place meats near the center of the board.
  4. Set Up the Dips (2 minutes): Spoon honey mustard and spicy brown mustard into separate small ramekins or bowls. Place on opposite sides of the board.
  5. Add the Fruits and Pickles (3 minutes): Slice apple into thin wedges and toss in lemon juice to prevent browning. Arrange apple slices in a fan shape near the cheddar. Scatter grapes in small clusters. Place cornichons or pickle spears near the salami.
  6. Fill in with Crunch (2 minutes): Scatter mixed nuts and pretzel sticks in remaining empty spaces on the board, filling gaps naturally.
  7. Place the Soft Pretzels (1 minute): Arrange warm soft pretzels around the edges of the board, slightly overlapping other ingredients. Leave whole for rustic look, or break large pretzels in half. Position near mustard dips.
  8. Final Check (1 minute): Step back and check for bare spots. Add more nuts or pretzel sticks if needed. Serve immediately while pretzels are warm.

Notes

Take cheese and meats out of fridge 15-20 minutes before serving for best flavor. Don’t overcrowd the board—aim for 80% full. Warm pretzels are essential; reheat in oven if they cool. Layer textures: soft, crunchy, chewy. Use two mustards (one sweet, one spicy) for variety. Don’t skip the pickles—they provide necessary acidity.
