A quick and easy baked salmon recipe featuring a sweet and tangy honey garlic Dijon glaze with fresh dill, perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes or smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and olive oil until smooth. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  3. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  4. Place salmon skin-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet or greased baking dish, spacing fillets evenly.
  5. Brush the honey garlic Dijon glaze generously over the top of each fillet.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, checking at 10 minutes if your oven runs hot, until salmon flakes easily with a fork but remains moist.
  7. Sprinkle chopped fresh dill over the salmon after baking and serve immediately with lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before glazing to help the glaze stick better. Check salmon early to avoid overcooking. Glaze twice for extra flavor by brushing half before baking and the rest halfway through cooking. Let salmon rest at room temperature 10-15 minutes before baking if possible. Fresh dill is preferred but tarragon or parsley can substitute. For lower sugar, reduce honey to 1 tablespoon and add apple cider vinegar.
