A fun, no-bake Halloween dessert featuring layers of chocolate pudding, whipped topping, and crushed Oreo cookies topped with gummy worms for a spooky, edible dirt effect.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 packages (approx. 30-36 cookies) Chocolate Oreos
  • 1 box (3.4 oz) Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix
  • 2 cups Milk (Whole or 2%)
  • 1 tub (8 oz) Whipped Topping (Thawed)
  • Gummy Worms
  • Small Plastic Tombstones (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place cookies in a large Ziplock bag and crush with a rolling pin until you have small, uneven crumbs with some larger chunks for texture. Do not turn into fine powder.
  2. Prepare the Pudding: In a medium bowl, combine instant chocolate pudding mix with milk. Beat with an electric mixer or whisk for about 2 minutes until thickened.
  3. Prepare the Whipped Topping: Pour thawed whipped topping into a separate bowl. Let sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes if frozen to soften.
  4. Layer the Cups: In clear serving glasses, add a layer of chocolate pudding (about 2 tablespoons) at the bottom.
  5. Add the Cream: Add a layer of whipped topping (about 2-3 tablespoons) over the pudding.
  6. Top with Dirt: Generously sprinkle crushed Oreos over the whipped topping to create a thick ‘soil’ layer (about 1/4 inch). Press down slightly.
  7. Add the Worms: Push gummy worms into the top layer of crumbs so they peek out, resembling burrowing worms.
  8. Chill: Refrigerate the cups for at least 30 minutes before serving to help layers set.

Notes

For best texture, ensure the pudding is thick; if too runny, add a tablespoon of crushed Oreos. Keep chilled until serving to prevent whipped topping from melting. Do not freeze as whipped topping will become grainy. Can be made up to 24 hours in advance.
