A simple, sweet, and savory baked salmon recipe that comes together in under 20 minutes, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a 13×9 inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, melted butter, and black pepper until glossy.
  4. Pour half of the glaze over the salmon fillets and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. While salmon bakes, warm the remaining glaze in a small saucepan or microwave.
  7. Remove salmon from oven and brush with the remaining warm glaze.
  8. Let rest for 2-3 minutes before serving. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before glazing to ensure the sauce sticks. Do not overcook, as salmon continues to cook slightly after removal from the oven. If your oven runs hot, check a few minutes early to prevent burning the honey.
