A crisp and lively sparkling strawberry lemonade punch that combines fresh strawberry syrup, lemon juice, and sparkling water for a refreshing summer drink. Frozen strawberries chill the punch without diluting it quickly, making it perfect for parties and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (can substitute with honey or maple syrup)
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 4 cups sparkling water
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves (a handful, optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Strawberry Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of hulled and sliced fresh strawberries, ½ cup granulated sugar, and 1 cup cold water. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to simmer. Let it simmer gently for 5 minutes, allowing the strawberries to soften and release their juices.
  2. Strain the Syrup: Remove from heat and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl or pitcher, pressing gently on the strawberries to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids or save them for smoothies.
  3. Add Lemon Juice: Stir in 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice to the cooled syrup.
  4. Chill the Base: Place the strawberry-lemon syrup mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to cool completely.
  5. Combine with Sparkling Water: Just before serving, pour 4 cups of chilled sparkling water into the pitcher with the syrup. Gently stir to combine, taking care not to lose the bubbles.
  6. Add Frozen Strawberries: Toss in about 1 cup of frozen strawberries to keep the punch cold and slowly infuse extra flavor.
  7. Serve: Add ice cubes if desired, garnish with fresh mint leaves, pour into glasses, and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for best flavor. Strain the syrup for a smooth texture or leave pulp for rustic feel. Keep sparkling water cold and stir gently to preserve bubbles. Frozen strawberries chill the punch and add flavor without diluting. Adjust sweetness to taste by adding more sugar syrup or lemon juice as needed. Store syrup and sparkling water separately for up to 2 days; combine just before serving.
